I have finally ordered a new usb cord for my camera, so hopefully it will come soon so I can put my photos up. Well, we had a really big weekend last week. We went into the actual city of Hyderabad on both saturday and sunday for really the first time. We saw all of the famous historical sites on saturday, and on sunday we did a scavenger hunt called Khojo Hyderabad. For Khojo Hyderabad we were put into teams of 3 or 4, and coincidentally i was put into a team with all of my friends. The scavenger hunt was based on speed (biking, walking, running, etc), skills at getting a rickshaw and haggling the price of the ride down, as well as actual intelligence and artistic ability. The hunt took literally all day, which was extremely exhausting but still very fun. And what do you know, my team and I end up winning! First prize is Rs 12,000, which is the equivalent of $260! So it was a very fun and busy weekend.
I have been seeing a lot of crazy things during my everyday life here like...
-monkeys in trees while I'm on my morning run
-cows and water buffalo that I have to ring my bike bell at to make them move
-men peeing LITERALLY everywhere, be it the side of a road, a train station, a bus stop, or right on a busy city sidewalk
-trash trash trash trash, oh, and burning trash, everywhere I turn
-wild dogs, cats, and pigs in my backyard
-little children shouting at us "One chocolate one chocolate!"
All of these new ways of life were very shocking and irritating to me at first, but I've quickly adapted and gotten used to them.
Fun news! Evan and I have officially planned our first trip in India! We are going to Goa (look it up, it's beautiful) to be beach bums for 4 days next wednesday through sunday. I am so excited to get some sun and some water and explore a new city in India.
Of course I'm already sick of my classes, but I'm enjoying them at the same time. the classes I have with Indian students are pretty tough right now, as I am just not used to the classroom etiquette, and I have a hard time hearing the other students' accents. I'm sure it will get better with time.
Namaste!

I have now had two dreams, one last night and one a couple of weeks ago, about you coming home to me. I must really miss you...
But I, of course, hope Goa is your favorite place.
Bye bye!
